I recently discovered Darkroom Door stamps. Their style is a bit different from most of the other stamps I own. I went a little bit crazy and ordered a whole bunch of them in one go. The images are lovely! Quite artistic and lifelike. I decided to do an art journal page in bold colours with the parrots as the main motif. The map is also a really cool image, so I wanted to include that as well.
This journal page is all one layer only, nothing is glued onto the paper.
First I glued a sheet of thin watercolour paper into my Moleskine Sketchbook with Mod Podge. inked up the stamp with Distress Ink and stamped. I used a paintbrush and put some more colour on the parrots.
Then I let them dry and masked them off before I embossed the cherry flowers around the edge. I masked these as well and stamped the background map. Then I coloured everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, Finetec gold and Distress Ink. The sentiment and flying birds were stamped in Versafine and embossed.

Good Night Art Journal Page
This piece is based on an idea I've had in my head for a while, I wanted to create a childish good night page, something sweet and funny to make my son smile.
This journal page is full of details. It includes three different scenes. It's one layer only, nothing is glued onto the paper.
The upper scene is about counting sheep, a well known symbolic activity which for some reason is supposed to make you feel sleepy. Whether it's efficient or not, the sheep and the night scene make a cute theme for artwork, and set the mood for bedtime.
The children and dog in the bottom left corner are relaxing in their cozy livingroom before getting ready for bed. Hopefully they will only dream about pleasant things, like cute sheep running around and friendly bears in the forest.
The night scene to the right is also nice and calm. The mama bear and the cub are going home to their den in the moonlight.
I wanted to use watercolour, so I glued a sheet of thin watercolour paper into my Moleskine Sketchbook with Mod Podge and smoothed it out with a bone folder.
I used Distress Ink for all the backgrounds. Most of the work went into the stamping and masking. The rest of the colouring was done with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. For details I used a black Sakura Micron pen.
In the end I embossed some words onto the pages.
The stars and moon are also embossed with white powder. I put some Finetec gold watercolour around the edge as a frame.
