Watercolour Sympathy Card

This is a fairly quick watercolour card I made the other day when I needed a card for someone who lost a close family member. I wanted something a bit serious and grown-up, but not too dark. I went for a slightly romantic look and chose purple and green, which makes a lovely combination.
















I started by stamping the Romantic Script background stamp on watercolour paper in grey dye ink. Then I stamped the flowers in Versamark and embossed with silver powder.

In the end the script in the background is barely visible, but it's there and it makes a nice detail.













I taped the piece down with masking tape and sprayed lots of water on it. I used a wet brush to pick up the watercolour and dabbed it on the wet paper.

The watercolour piece is taped to a piece of grey shimmery cardstock with stitched edges. The sentiment is adhered with foam tape.
