I recently discovered Darkroom Door stamps. Their style is a bit different from most of the other stamps I own. I went a little bit crazy and ordered a whole bunch of them in one go. The images are lovely! Quite artistic and lifelike. I decided to do an art journal page in bold colours with the parrots as the main motif. The map is also a really cool image, so I wanted to include that as well. This journal page is all one layer only, nothing is glued onto the paper.

First I glued a sheet of thin watercolour paper into my Moleskine Sketchbook with Mod Podge. inked up the stamp with Distress Ink and stamped. I used a paintbrush and put some more colour on the parrots.

Then I let them dry and masked them off before I embossed the cherry flowers around the edge. I masked these as well and stamped the background map. Then I coloured everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, Finetec gold and Distress Ink. The sentiment and flying birds were stamped in Versafine and embossed.
